nashville documentary photographer | chicago & michigan trip {part 1}

We took a trip up to Southwest Michigan to visit family and then over to Chicago for a few days while the grandparents watched our two boys! Dan and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary. We are thankful that God has upheld us during the past ten years–there have been some difficult seasons and some joyous seasons. It was wonderful to be able to get away for multiple days just the two of us. It felt like a dream. Chicago is my new favorite city. The last time we were in Chicago was while we were dating, just a few months before getting engaged. Oh how time flies.

This is part one. We (almost) slept in, walked everywhere, rode the L, ate delicious foods, stayed in two different hotels, fell in love with Chinatown, visited Navy Pier, didn’t budget enough time for The Art Institute, did some shopping, went to quiet coffee shops, and of course I documented everything. I took photos with my Nikon, iPhone, and rented a medium format film camera for the first time! More photos to come…:)
