nashville documentary photographer | front porch mini session with Abe & Ben

I really love photographing people in the context of their own home. Some of my most cherished photos are of the house I grew up in; of me and my family in our yard, on our patio, in my bedroom, of my mom in the kitchen, etc. When I look at those pictures, memories & feelings come back to me from my childhood.

Abe and his little brother Ben were SO much fun to photograph. Their mama, a talented musician and photographer (and beat-boxer), wanted me to photograph her boys “in my style” and so I did a Front Porch Mini Session for them. She was also rad enough to not mind that Ben played in the potted plants. What boy doesn’t like dirt?! They had fun running around, exploring, showing me their prized toys, and dancing.

  • katy - what i love about this “front porch” session idea is that it keeps kids pretty real (or so you make it seem.) i feel like i just got a real feel for what these two kiddos are about 🙂 they are beautifully active, confident and busy with moments of shy… love it.ReplyCancel
