east nashville photographer | a day at home

i finally bit the bullet and photographed our family for one day. a day at home, with nothing special going on. i didn’t premeditate photographing this particular day, i just decided that morning that i was going to do it! i wanted to document a normal, boring day anyway so i can remember what it’s like. so i can feel those feelings of parenting small children again in 20 years. so our boys can look back and laugh. so i can remember–

the mornings that came really early

how bananas, whole milk, and oatmeal were always on their menu for breakfast (the water is for me)

my good husband changing diapers on the floor

their wake-up faces & footed pjs

toys strewn all over the house

that i was present in these moments, even if the only photos i have are of my feet

my thrift store runs that happened at least once a week

their Dalmatian and Owl lovies (that they LOVE so much)

that i actually made lunch and did laundry

papa coming home and playing outside in our yard

and going to other neighborhood parks

reading books every night before bed

how i loved cold cereal, especially for dessert

how exhausted we were

how nice and peaceful it was once the boys were sleeping
